Kelowna Classic Lake Competition July 8th - 9th

Attention WhiskeyJacks! Mark your calendars for the upcoming Kelowna Classic 2023 tournament, taking place in open water in beautiful Kelowna, British Columbia on July 8th and 9th. The registration deadline is June 16th!

This exciting event brings together water polo players to compete in the stunning Okanagan Lake. Whether you're a seasoned water polo player or just starting out, the Kelowna Classic 2023 tournament offers something for everyone. With games scheduled throughout the weekend, there will be plenty of opportunities to showcase your skills, challenge yourself, and meet other players from different regions.

Tournament Information

Water Polo Games

  • 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Saturday 8th July

  • 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Sunday 9th July

  • Players can register individually and the KWPC will make age group teams ahead of the Kelowna Classic

  • Age groups are 13U, 15U, 18U and Adult Rec - all teams will be co-ed

  • Teams in each age group will play a round-robin of games against other teams

Who Can Play?

This is an inclusive tournament for players of all ages 13U and up and all levels of ability.

Youth & adult players will register individually.

KWPC coaches will liaise with other club coaches to create balanced teams.

We are a community & developmental club and this summer tournament will be a reflection of this.


Water polo will take place at Okanagan Lake at either Tugboat Beach (Waterfront Park) or Cold Sands Beach (City Park) in Kelowna.

The lake temperature at this time of year is normally above or around 25 degrees Celsius.


Kelowna is busy in July so booking accommodation early is important. UBCO has some affordable options that are located a 15-minute drive or 45-minute bus ride from downtown Kelowna.
